The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for a variety of functions involving accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting procedures. Duties and responsibilities include maintaining all records, bills, vouchers and checks in payments to vendors, suppliers, etc. Under general supervision, the Accounting Clerk will also maintain financial reports, prepare journal entries, and complete other accounting procedures as assigned by supervisor. Reports to the Director of Finance.
Three plus years of experiences demonstrated in Bookkeeping/Payroll/Accounts payable/Accounts receivable, etc. Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred. Demonstrates an understanding of basic accounting functions and processes. Must be proficient with computers, accounting software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must be 18 years of age
Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License
SOME OF THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for verifying necessary documentation to process invoices
Ensure proper use of chart of accounts system
Responsible for data entry of vouchers
Maintain proper records associated with accounts payable functions
Prepare 1099 reports at year-end
Perform other verifications, printing checks, etc. relating to accounts payable on computer system
Coordinate and process payroll
Reconcile payroll deduction accounts
Prepare and file various state and federal reports
Prepare and maintain documentation for journal entries
Prepare analyses and account reconciliations to assist with monthly close processes
Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
Maintain proper balance and transfer of funds for various accounts
Prepare and maintain work orders for closing and billing
Assist and prepare the Company’s budget
Perform a wide variety of other general accounting and office duties to ensure proper and accurate financial reporting
Must complete a Microsoft Office Products/Business Math Assessment test for the Accounting Clerk Position.
